Best wishes for 2011!

Last month I traveled through India, and in this country the elephant is the symbol of good luck and 'the remover of obstacles'. It looked to me very suitable for a new years wish: good luck in 2011!

Here some style research for the film: Eekhoorn en olifant. Finaly I made the backgrounds only with pencil, otherwise it was impossible to graduate in june. But in the future I would really like to do something with paint again!

GGD tandenpoes

Here some pictures of 'De tandenpoes'. This project commissioned by the GGD was a lot of fun to work on! Produced by Illuster and studio Carambolas. I did a big part of the animation. 

Toothcat cleans up the teeth of the animals (rubbing away the 'zoetkoppen' and the 'luilakken'.) Because that's such a busy job, he has no time to also clean up the childrens teeth and thats why he explains how they can do it properly themselves.

Rutger

'Rutger' is a lesson package for highschool. (ThiemeMeulenhoff) This package contains a number of interactive lessons. Really nice for the students because they can compose music at an animation fragment!
In co-operation with Ka-chingcartoons and 'the Fabrique' I did the flash animation.

The Flaneur

This is some artwork from a project I am working together on with Daan Faudet. (he made this nice drawings)
The story is about a poet who wants to catch the city  in a poem. The poet wanders the streets to observe the city and its inhabitants. When he comes close to discover the identity of the city, it becomes impossible for him to keep his reservations and is swept into the pumping heart of the city.

Vrede van Utrecht

This film is made as a promo for the institute Treaty of Utrecht. They are organizing all sorts of cultural events that bring people closer together. We made this film with the 'Carambolas collective' in co-operation with Illuster. A part of the after effects-animation was my contribution.

For this internet commercial I did a part of the animation. Commissioned by Carambolas.

Tapetapijt

This tapestry (30 by 5 meter)is made of painters tape. With the help of 10 young artists we sticked a Christmasdrawing on the patio in 1 day.

Eekhoorn en olifant

This is my graduation film of the WdKA. The story is about an elephant who always knock his head against the trees. Squirrel decides that it is better for elephant, if he walks exactly behind him from now on. With this filmplan, I won a studentprice of the Rotterdam filmfund, what made it possible for me to finance the music and sound for this film.

HAFF leader

Leader for an animation film festival, made in co-operation with Daan Faudet. A love/hate story between artistic an commercial animation in 1 minute..

Door het oog

With this installation I tried to show in a poetic way the proces of the eye. The brains turn the impressions that you get on your retina upside down. In the video report of this intallation you see how a big lens lowers through the pupil of an eye. the spectator sees himself upside down reflected in the lens (in this case it is me with the camera). The eye of the spectator grows bigger and bigger, and finaly 'blobs' through its own eye too see himself the right way up.
